MGA 1500 ROADSTER - MK1
The Vehicle is registered in ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) and provided with CRS - Historical Relevance Certificate.
Matching number as per Heritage Certificate issued by BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE TRUST.
Full test with Italian Register for vehicle carried out in May 2019 with positive result. Now the vehicle is regularly registered provided with new italian plates and car's ID, it can easily registered in any country inside EU.
Many works carried out concerning mechanical, body, chassis and interiors, including enginee, braking system, clutch and a new electrical system. Hundreed pictures and video showing all steps are available upon request, some of which shown in this site.
After a coupe of year restoration, the Vehicle is now perfectly working. It starts, runs, drives and brakes very well. It has been fully tested in every aspect, guaranteed!!!
Upon completion of restoration project it has been driven for 300km.
MAJOR WORKS CARRIED OUT:
Enginee has been rebuilt from the original one. We have yanked the engine out of the car, disassembled, taken to a machine shop for machining and eventually rebuilt it with new parts, put back to the car, tested and tuned its operation.
Major parts replaced with new components are: piston sets, con rods, timing chain, cilynder head gasket set, thermostat and heater valve, water pump, fan blade, pulley and fan belt, starter cable and choke cable,
Clutch been renewed with new clutch kit including clutch plate, new master and slave cylinders and hydraulic pipes.
Original SU Carburettors has been serviced and restored with service kit. They are now like new.
Fuel tank has been treated internally and repainted externally, provided with new fuel pump, new fuel sender unit and new fuel pipes.
New exhaust system.
The brake hydraulics system has been completely reviewed with new brake master cylinder, new pipes, new brake shoes and wheel cylinder (front and rear).
Ignition system has been also renewed with new ignition coil, contact set, spark plugs and cable.
Electric system is totally new with a new control box and new wiring loom. The original 6V twin batteries have been upgraded with a single 12V battery of new generation, maintenance free. Headlamps, front and side lamps are new, as well as the rear lamps and plate lamp.
The dashboard has been restored maintaining most of the original instruments still working, including the radio, with the exception of the Jaeger Dual gauge that is new. The instrument wiring loom is new. Most of the switches are new. The wiper motori s also new.
The chassis frame has been sandblasted, welded where needed and repainted in black colour.
Floor board has been repalced with new pieces made from water resistant plywood.
Body components have been sanblasted, welded where required and painted with the original colour, in accordance with the Heritage Certrificate.
The original disc wheel have been mantained and restored, in accordance with the Heritage Certificate to mantain the original car’ set up. Wire wheels can be easily installed later on at a choice of the new owner. Tires are new, including the spare one.
The original seat frames have been mantained, restored and provided with new seat runners. Interiors, trim and carpets are new, all coloured in black, in accordance with the original ones. The vehicle comes with a new tonneau cover. The Vehicle is also provided with new roof, frame and sliding windows.
A new Moto-Lita Woodrim steering wheel, new chromed bumpers, radiator grille, hub caps, all body fittings and external trim parts complete this project car and bring her back to the original beauty. Now it is ready for its second life.
